Misfits are products that don't quite meet our production standards. Misfit boards are great for practice, full board design engraves, or family gifts. You can sand spots or engrave over blemishes. Or, chop them up and use them for some other creative method.

Misfit acacia boards have too many filler spots or a large filler spot that is right in the middle of the board, a crack in the wood or seam, or warp to the board.  They often just need a little TLC. They may have uneven cuts on the side of the board or holes on the side the factory attempted to fill. Some misfit bark boards will have too many prominent nails.

Laser machine engrave settings vary by machine and style preference.  For the Glowforge: I prefer 1000 speed, full power, 340 LPI.  You do need to remove the crumb tray.
